November 14, 2019 - the menil bistro
In 2019, the HPSCA celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the relationship between Perth and Houston, as well as the 77th Anniversary of the Battle Of Sunda Strait which is the foundation of the Sister City relationship.
Our November Sundowner was a celebration of this anniversary, and we were fortunate to be able to spend this night at the Menil Collection which is exhibiting the Aboriginal Art collection - Mapa Wiya (No Map Needed). The Menil was a beautiful backdrop for a night of reflection and appreciation. Susan Young, President of Sister Cities of Houston, attended the event and provided a brief history of the relationship between our two great cities. Jerald Broussard, President of Houston Perth Sister Cities Association also spoke about the origins of the Sister City relationship which was insightful for all in attendance.
